Classification of cement utility poles
Cement utility poles can be classified from two major dimensions: shape and reinforcement. In terms of shape, they are divided into tapered poles and uniform-diameter poles. Tapered poles have a taper ratio of 1:75, being thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom, and are commonly used for outdoor distribution lines. Uniform-diameter poles have the same diameter throughout and are often flange-spliced, commonly used for substation frameworks. In terms of reinforcement, they are divided into prestressed, partially prestressed, and non-prestressed poles. Prestressed poles have steel reinforcement that is pre-stressed, providing strong crack resistance and saving steel; non-prestressed poles have outstanding impact resistance and are suitable for working conditions with high loads. According to the role of the line, they can also be divided into straight poles, tension poles, angle poles, and terminal poles, adapting to different line erection requirements. When selecting a type, it is necessary to comprehensively consider bending moments, burial depth, and wind loads to ensure engineering safety.
