Key points for daily maintenance of cement utility poles

Cement utility poles, exposed to the elements for extended periods, are subject to the impact of wind, rain, temperature fluctuations, and external collisions. Regular maintenance can effectively extend their service life and ensure the safe operation of electrical lines.

During routine inspections, focus should be placed on observing the surface of the pole body, checking for cracks, chipping, and weathering peeling. Minor cracks should be promptly repaired, and if the cracks are too large, they need to be evaluated for replacement. Check the root of the pole to observe soil settlement, erosion, and corrosion. If cavities appear at the root, they should be promptly backfilled and compacted. Proper drainage should be ensured to avoid water accumulation and immersion.

It is also necessary to inspect the clamps and hardware fasteners to prevent loosening and corrosion, and promptly remove rust and perform anti-corrosion treatment. Clear the weeds and debris around the pole to avoid vines entangling the power line. After heavy rain or strong winds, re-measure the inclination of the pole and promptly correct and reinforce any tilt. Regular maintenance is essential to reduce the risk of failure and ensure stable power transmission.
